12 Angry Men
Pasadena November 8, 2013
Scott Lowell (Foreman of the Jury), Jeff Williams (Juror 2), Gregory North (Juror 3), Robert Picardo (Juror 4), Jacques C. Smith (Juror 5), Ellis E. Williams (Juror 6), Barry Pearl (Juror 7), Jason George (Juror 8), Adolphus Ward (Joror 9), Bradford Tatum (Juror 10), Clinton Derricks-Carroll (Juror 11), Adam J. Smith A very nice capture of this powerful play. The mixed race casting adds additional layers to Rose’s great writing, and the play’s message is just as relevant today as it was almost 60 years ago. The cast is full of familiar faces from both stage and screen, and each of them gives an exceptional performance; Jason George in particular carries the Henry Fonda role very well. Three of the first five minutes are blacked out, but the show is completely intact after that. There is one head that can occasionally be seen in the lower left corner of the screen, but it never blocks the action. The video has no washout. It’s filmed in 16:9 with mostly wides and mediums to capture the large cast, but there are a few close-ups throughout. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call.

Regional Theater January 10, 2015
Meg Chamberlain, Geoff Wilson, Sue Wismar Trent Rowland, Danny Turek, Emily Kacsandi
Such a wonderful production, this is a not a production to be missed. I strongly recommend this to any comedy lover. This is such a funny show, I really enjoyed this. This is a workshop of the show so there is very little set but it does not effect it honestly. The video is great to, it has nice close ups. It also follows everything very good, the only problem is that the show takes place outside so during the last 20 mins it gets dark to show night.

Angela Lansbury is perfect in the role, and the rest of the cast is fantastic as well. This capture is near perfect with no washout, no blackouts, and only minor obstruction. There is one head that occasionally leans in on the left, but it’s worked around fine and does not block the action.

Broadway December 27, 2014
Hari Dhillon (Amir), Josh Radnor (Isaac), Gretchen Mol (Emily), Karen Pittman (Jory), Danny Ashor (Abe). A nice capture of this thought-provoking play. The story of a dinner party gone awry, the play delves into issues of religion, racism, sexism, domestic violence, and much more. The cast is fantastic, giving great performances all around. This is a nice capture with no washout, no blackouts, and very minor obstruction. There are a couple heads that can be seen at the bottom of the screen, but they never affect the action. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is very good overall, but there is more shuffling and static than usual; all of the dialogue is listenable. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

Broadway December 29, 2014
Nathan Lane (James Wicker), Matthew Broderick (Peter Austin), Megan Mullally (Julie Budder), Stockard Channing (Virginia Noyes), Rupert Grint (Frank Finger), F. Murray Abraham (Ira Drew), Micah Stock (Gus P Head) A good capture of the play’s original cast. The play is absolutely hysterical — Nathan, Megan, and Micah being particularly fantastic. This capture has no washout and only minor obstruction, but most of the first 26 minutes of Act One are blacked out. After that, the show is very nicely captured with just one head that can occasionally be seen at the bottom of the screen and does not affect the action. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is very good overall, but there is more shuffling and static than usual; all of the dialogue is listenable. Includes playbill scans.

Based on R.C. Sherriff's own experiences in the Great War, Journey's End is set in a trench in St. Quentin, France, as a group of British officers await their day of reckoning. The young Captain Stanhope tries to galvanize his men as they prepare to raid the enemy across No Man's Land. Meanwhile, his company is joined by his old school friend Raleigh, who finds his one-time hero much changed. Journey's End was the first play written about World War I, and premiered in 1929 to great critical acclaim, which led to multiple international productions. A 75th Anniversary revival took place in London in 2004." This is a dimly lit, dark show and there are occasional spots where the camera had trouble focusing.

Elliot: Miles Gaston Villanueva, Yazmin: Sabina Zuniga Varela, Odessa: Zilah Mendoza, Orangutan: Anna Ishida, Fountainhead: Patrick Kelly Jones, Chutes &L adders: Anthony J Haney, Professor Ghost Policeman: George Psarras A perfect capture of this interesting play at Theatre Works Silicon Valley. There are no blackouts, no obstruction, and just some slight washout in some wide shots. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call and playbill scans.

Chicago February 02, 2012
Tracy Letts, Amy Morton, Carrie Coon and Madison Dirks. Great capture of this PreBroadway production where it began in Chicago.A year and a half later this production with cast intact landed on Broadway. For the first act in wide shots two heads block the far sides. Mostly this is not an issue since zoomed in past them for midsize shots and most of the action is center stage.
